On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Gottlob Frege, the founder of propositional and predicate logic and, indirectly, one of the founders of analytic philosophy, a two-day symposium will be held in collaboration between the Association for Logic Research and the Department of Philosophy at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. This international symposium will be the first thematic event in Turkey dedicated to Frege.
Frege’s groundbreaking contributions to logic, language, and mathematics mark a turning point in the development of modern logic and analytic philosophy. His major achievements—particularly as the founder of propositional and predicate logic, his distinction between sense and reference, and his logical definition of numbers—continue to deeply influence contemporary work in the philosophy of language, logic, the philosophy of mathematics, epistemology, and cognitive science.
The symposium will explore Frege’s philosophy from various perspectives and provide a platform for internationally respected philosophers and researchers to engage in discussions about the present and future impact of Frege’s thought.
All interested parties are invited to join this meaningful event, which aims to foster a comprehensive dialogue on the past, present, and future of logic and the philosophy of language.
